Creating a romantic winter atmosphere involves incorporating elements that evoke warmth, coziness, and intimacy. Here are some ideas to make winter romantic:
Table of Contents
Romantic Winter Candlelight
Use candles to create a warm and intimate ambiance. Place them strategically around the room or use candle holders to add a romantic glow.
We do not acknowledge Big Light in this house. For your cozy and romantic Winter, you need to stick to what our ancestors knew- candle light.
They say it’s the flattering candle light that makes one their most beautiful. So light your candles and take a bath, we are channeling our pre-electricity era.
My Favorite Romantic Winter Candle Light
Flameless LED remote controlled gold glass candles <3
Vintage Scrooge Candle Stick Holder
Flameless waterproof LED Candles with remote <3
Antique Bronze 5 Arm Candelabra
Vanilla Scented Ivory Colored Taper Candles
Cozy & Soft Lighting
Go for soft, warm lighting rather than harsh overhead lights. Consider using string lights, fairy lights, or even a fireplace if you have one.
Pro Tip: to get your house next level romantic-cozy, try to incorporate self timers onto the lamps/fairy lights around your home. You can set them to turn on right when you usually get home and then from there instant soft lighting.
Warm Blankets and Pillows
Provide cozy blankets and pillows for comfort. Consider soft, textured throws that add warmth and a touch of luxury.
Pro Tip: Don’t wait too long to clean your bed sheets. It seems like a hassle but when was the last time you regretted slipping into clean sheets at night?
What I like
Hot Beverages:
Prepare hot cocoa, warm tea, mulled wine, or a special winter-themed cocktail. Enjoying a warm drink together can be a delightful and intimate experience.
My favorite teas this Winter
Cook a Winter Meal Together
Choose a warm, comforting recipe to cook together. The act of preparing and sharing a meal can be a deeply romantic experience.
Winter Getaway
Plan a winter getaway to a cozy cabin or a snow-covered destination. A change of scenery can add excitement and intimacy to your relationship. My Boyfriend and I always try to go somewhere once a year where we can just be with each other and unplug from ordinary life. Snow is a bonus! Last year we went to Durango, CO and Pagosa Springs, CO, this year Crested Butte, CO! Ruidoso, NM is also one of our favorite places to relax and enjoy beautiful scenery.
Fireside Chat
If you have a fireplace, use it to your advantage. Sit by the fire, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company. Even someone like myself, a person who isn’t the biggest fan of being exposed to the elements outdoors, can appreciate a good fire. Indoors or outdoors, a good fire will keep you warm while also filling the air with the beautiful smell of burning wood. You can make s’mores, tell love stories, or even just stare into the fire while you daydream of your favorite memories.
Let Winter Happen
Remember, the key is to create a comfortable and intimate atmosphere where you can rest and enjoy romance and magic of the winter season.
For many people, winter is a dreaded time. We want to romanticize the warmth next to a fire or the beauty of fresh fallen snow, but we can all agree that the cold DOES bother us (anyway). I’m trying really hard to work towards not dreading my day to day mundane life and rather see how even the tiniest thing can be something that makes me feel appreciative. I’m so sick of telling people “I’m so grateful” and then turn around and live a life I mostly take for granted.
If you try any of these tips be sure to leave a comment, until then- I’m wish you a warm, cozy and ROMANTIC Winter.
